Nanna’s soup

Note: in traditional lazylu style, I usually just buy a soup pack and add in extra potato/carrot, but here’s the recipe

Up to 2 litres of chicken stock (I use Massel, being a vego, but my Nan always used normal chicken stock, and chicken noodle soup)
1 parsnip
3 medium carrots
1 large onion
2 sticks of celery (celery is what makes it Nanna soup, can’t have it without it.)
2 large potatoes
1 swede

Mum makes it by chopping vegetables into small pieces in a food processor, boiling it in a large pot with chicken stock and topped up with water.

I make it by chopping up the vegies in to one-inch pieces and cooking in the slow cooked for about 8-9 hours, then blending once it’s cooked.

Creamy Spinach LasagnaNotes: as this recipe has many ingredients, I’ve just included them in the instructions. They’ll be bolded. I’d probably reduce the garlic to a clove if you’re not as big of a garlic freak as me.

 Pre-heat Oven to 180C
Soften a small onion and 2 cloves of garlic for 3 minutes
Add 1 tsp dried oregano and 2 300g tins whole peeled tomatoes to frying pan and season. Squash tomatoes with spoon as they cook down for about 45 minutes, or until thick.

Steam 300g of spinach and squeeze the liquid out. Chop up and mix with 2 tbs ricotta, 2 large eggs, 1-2 cloves garlic, 1/2 cup parmesan, salt and pepper until combined.

Melt 2 tbs butter in a pan, add and stir on a low heat for about a minute. Add 1 cup of milk and stir until slightly thickened (but still runny). Season and add a small handful of mozzarella cheese.

Spread half the bechamel sauce over the bottom of a loaf tin (i use a tin about 20cm by 30cm, lined with baking paper) cover with lasagna sheets, half the tomato sauce and sprinkle mozzarella over the top, lasagna sheets, then half the spinach mix. Lasagna sheets, the rest of the tomato sauce, and mozzarella, lasagna sheets, spinach mix.
Finish with lasagna sheets, bechamel sauce, and cheese if you want.

Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake a further 10 minutes.

So-not-boring vegies with lentils.a nice alternative to traditional French-style lentils, which is a massive serving and doesn’t story well. You can add whatever veg you like. I used the vegies I enjoy as an example.

 1 medium onion
Garlic to taste
Massel Chicken Stock (vegan)
1 washed unpeeled carrot
1/2 cup frozen peas
1/4 cup frozen corn
Small handful of French Lentils, picked through
Salt and Pepper

Soften onion and garlic in a large frying pan with a tight-fitting lid.
Add carrot and fry for a couple of minutes.
Add the lentils and add stock until it’s covering the lentils by about an inch, cover and leave to cook for 20 minutes.
Add peas and corn and leave to cook a further 10 minutes.
Taste a lentil to see if they are soft, if so, season and serve immediately.

This makes a small meal for one.

In Other News: I’m crazy.

Currently attempting to cope with this constant, edgey feeling, like bugs crawling under my skin. Plus, the ever-present joy of randomly flying off the handle.

And the additional fun of this probably resulting in me laying in bed for four or five months too depressed to move.

Yey. -_-

I cannot stand to not wear underwear/pants. If my vagina is not hidden away in underwear, I feel like a sexual being. I feel uncomfortable and exposed.

I’m asexual. Every experience like this confirms it. It’s like not feeling right in my own skin.

About three things I was absolutely positive. First, I had a pokemon. Second, there was a part of me - and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be - that wanted to be the very best, like no one ever was. Third, Gary Oak was unconditionally and irrevocably a douchenozzle.

How old are you?

How long have you been ten?

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TEN

Misty looked at Ash, his breathing still heavy from carrying her on his bike as fast as he could through the long grass outside of Pallet Town.
“You’re eyes are impossibly huge and black,” Misty said. “Your hair is… incredibly pointy, and doesn’t need product. Your face changes size and shape based on your feelings… and sometimes you speak like - like you’re from the 90’s. You never spend money on anything; you don’t go to the bathroom.”
The silence hung there, thick and heavy like a Snorlax blocking the bike path.
“How old are you?” Misty asked, not sure if she wanted to know.
“Ten,” Ash replied, with a slight smirk and an almost amused tone.
Misty new that wasn’t true. Ash wasn’t like the other boys her age. He wasn’t even like her older sisters who ran the gym in Cerulean City. He was wiser and his passion was genuine.
Ash didn’t just want to catch them all, he needed to. He was going to be the best there ever was no matter how long it took, which gave Misty this nagging in the back of her mind. She had to know for sure.
“How long have you been ten?” she asked. Her voice weak, knowing full well the answer could change everything she thought she knew.
“A while…” Ash said. His voice trailing off, as if he were losing himself in a flood of memories.
Misty let out a faint gasp. She knew now. She was certain.
“I know what you are,” she declared, as if whatever had been holding her back from accepting the truth, finally let go of her hand and let her fall right down the Diglett hole.
Ash eyes were alive now, flickering like the flame on a Charmander’s tale.
He stared right into her and said, ”Say it… out loud. Say it.”
Misty’s heart was pounding louder than the thud of a Marowak’s bone club attack.
Despite the now eerily silent meadow, she could barely be heard as she whispered, “Pokemon Trainer.”

Tie-dye tips

*if you only want to do one colour, i’d suggest getting a single dye instead of a kit. It’s hard to get a complete coverage using a squeeze bottle.
*Wiggle the rubber band each turn to get it tighter.
*Have an idea about what you want to do beforehand, rather than just going in willy-nilly.
*Add dye until if you squeeze it dye runs out.
*Leave for at least 18 hours. Kits say 24 but 18 works.
*The easiest way to rinse tie-dye is to hang it on the line and spray it with a hose. Especially if you have big/heavy items.

Hey, people of facebook! I’m sure you think you’re doing the right thing by posting these “click like if you support gay, lesbian and bisexual people”. But it’s FUCKING offensive to have a picture of two scantily-clad models fake-leaning in for a kiss.

Lesbian is not “The L Word”.

Supporting equal rights is about giving normal people in normal relationships, the same treatment, regardless of the sex of who they love.

You’re message is right but your imagery is wrong, stereotypical and offensive.
